June 2007 - Agility Trial a Success!

I wanted to thank all those members who worked their butts off this weekend, you will never know how much I appreciate your efforts.

I do want to send out some special thanks to those leading the battle, Bev for her tireless work as Chief Ring Steward, she not only worked through every class herself but made sure we were covered in every position for every class. You could see her running out and setting bars, in her "free time, NOT!" just so things could keep moving. Thank you.

Maria for not only course building with Butch but doing awards when those great gals from Helena, the Prevels, were not available. Judy for working when she could.

I want to thank Terri Krause's kids, Tim and Kelli, what troopers, they worked off and on for all three days and for teenagers never really complained. Tim was happy to have food and finding softballs in his down time. Kelli fried her feet on Saturday but hung in there all day on Sunday. Thank you junior members your mother should be very proud of your efforts.

Thanks to Kim, Susan's brother-in-law, he also worked almost every class, he is a great guy and I really appreciate him helping our club out especially since he is not a member. For Susan working and helping were she could and helping break down and put away on Sunday.

To Donna who also worked every class for two days. She ran leashes and did some ring stewarding. Judy for getting the food, for Vicky coming in on Sunday after getting in late on Saturday, for Yvonne coming in and working the timer on Sunday. Thanks to Sami and Anne for helping set up on Friday and covering when they could after obed and rally were finished. Thanks to Becky for getting my judge to and fro every day even after her long days in obed/rally.

To Heidi as secretary, she worked her butt off so that the trial could go smoothly. To my husband, Butch, who never likes to be thanked but continued to work til 10:00 last night putting all the equipment away for another year. Who put up the gating, course builds, get toilet paper in the bath rooms, a pretty much all around guy. Without him I can tell you this weekend would not happen. I know he will never see this so I can thank him.

I hope that I did not leave anyone out it is not intentional. Again I appreciate you all so very much.

I don't know if you realize but had it not been for those members who were there on Sunday afternoon as the participants were disappearing, we would have been dead in the water without you. You really rallied to get those classes covered and I really appreciate it.

June 2007 - Added thank-yous from Becky

I want to add some special thank you's -

Sami - you are my hero. Without you, obedience and rally wouldn't have happened. You hauled equipment, set up, oversaw the stewards, broke everything down on Sunday, hauled it back and still managed to run some dogs! Oh my.... Rally timer Derek

Derek Jones - I don't know if Mom had to twist your arm or not, but you did a great job and your hard work was very much appreciated!!

Anne Dixon - it was a rough start and a bit of a learning curve but you did it and after only one day, became an expert at stewarding Rally!! You did a great job - I really appreciate it!!

Ann Camper - you kept the obedience ring running smoothly. I know you're not a member of GDC - wish you were! - but we really appreciated your expertise.

Vicky Whitney - thanks for coming and helping break the rings down on Sunday! We really appreciated your stepping in!!

Thanks to all the other helpers and stewards - many of them were in multiple rings, trying to juggle their runs in all of them and still managed to help us.

Great weather and great fun!

To everyone - I heard a lot of very positive comments about our nice trial - all 3 venues! All the hard work paid off and you helped provide a very fun weekend for a lot of folks!

Rest up - September's just around the corner! ;-)

New Puppies!
04 November 06
Becky writes: Big news in my house — Mica gave birth to 8 live puppies last Wednesday morning — 1 girl, 7 boys.  We lost a 2nd little girl,  the 9th puppy, at birth.  Everyone is healthy and doing well — VERY active.  Oftentimes, I wonder why I take 2 weeks off work when puppies are born — after all, Mica does all the work...now I remember.  It's because they keep me up all night with their constant chatter —  heaven forbid if they get under a blanket and can't get out...lol

Coursing anyone?

I was wondering if there are any sighthound owners in your kennel club. A friend of mine and I are trying to get a lure coursing club together, and we wanted to recruit people. Thanks for any help!

Sieger CH Sascha's Ursa Major
26 August 2006

Vicky writes: Major took BEST IN SIEGER SHOW at a large Bernese Mtn Dog Sieger Show in Seattle in August with a rating of "excellent". I had no thought of his winning this -- I only entered him because it was being judged by the top three BMD breeder judges in the nation, and I wanted to get their evaluations on him. They confirmed my judgment of much of him, and answered some questions I had -- which was what I wanted -- and then rated his as "excellent." And for him to compete against the other excellents, and WIN was just unthinkable to me!!! I guess I have to recognize that he's no longer a geeky boy, but an excellent breed specimen. His breeder really bred a nice boy, and I'm lucky to have him.

Christie and Breezie qualified in 20" Open Preferred Standard in June! It takes both speed and accuracy to navigate an AKC Open course successfully. Christie writes "Breezie used to be my dog that was lagging along — but now has DRIVE with the help of her "magic box" (yogurt container with treats)! Now on to work on the techical aspects."

Roedertor All That Glitters "Mica" earned her CD title with 2 straight qualifying scores at the Spokane Kennel Club Show on May 27th and 28th, 2006 and a final qualifying score at the Coeur d'Alene Dog Fanciers Show on May 29th, 2006. On June 11th, she received her SG rating (Very Good) at the Northwestern Regional WDA Show put on by the Southern Idaho Working Dog Association in Boise, ID.
