HEIGHT DIVISIONS

The following jump heights shall be used in all agility trial classes:

Regular classes

Preferred classes

8 inches for dogs 11 inches and under at the withers 4 inches
12 inches for dogs 14 inches and under at the withers

8 inches
16 inches for dogs 18 inches and under at the withers 12 inches
20 inches for dogs 22 inches and under at the withers 16 inches
24 inches for dogs over 22 inches at the withers 20 inches
26 inches any dog, at handler/owner discretion

In the Regular classes only, handlers may choose to run in a higher height division than that determined by their withers height. In the Preferred classes, dogs MUST run in the height division determined by their withers height.

If your dog does not have an AKC valid jump height card, it will need to be measured prior to their run. 24” dogs will not need to be measured unless an AKC rep or VMO is present for permanent height cards.

OBSTACLES

Obstacles and jumps shall be used as described in the AKC regulations for Agility Trials. A twelve foot (12’) dog walk will be used. All classes will take place outdoors in one grass ring 100’ x 100’.

All exhibitors will be permitted to walk the course prior to the start of the class as per the judge’s instructions. Course maps will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

AWARDS

A stuffed toy will be awarded to First place in each jump height in all classes. Rosettes/Ribbons will be awarded to 1st through 4th place in each jump height in all classes. Qualifying ribbons will be awarded to all qualifiers. Title completion ribbons will be awarded to all dogs completing a title at the trial. Please be sure to request a title ribbon.

MACH/PAX ribbon and bar will be given to those earning a MACH/PAX at this trial. Please let the trial chair or secretary know if you are close so we can plan to celebrate with you.

AGILITY TRIAL — DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER

This Trial is open to all dogs over the age of 15 months that are registered with the American Kennel Club or are registerable breeds that have obtained ILP numbers from AKC, except bitches in season, aggressive dog or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury or illness which may affect the dog’s physical or mental performance. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.

ENTRY FEES — AGILITY

Each class per run $17. Refunds will be given (minus $3 for each day entered + judge’s fees) for bitches in season after closing date, when request is accompanied with a veterinarian certification, prior to the first run on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Checks payable to GDC. Mail entries to Samie Jones, Agility Trial Secretary, 721 West Cameron Bridge Road, Bozeman, MT 59718. Entries not accompanied by full fees will not be accepted. Entries not filled out completely and accurately will not be accepted.

Catalogues. A limited number of catalogues will be available for purchase the day of the trial. Check box on entry form for a prepaid catalogue and add $5.00 to fees.

Limited Trial. Envelopes containing entries for more than the ten dog maximum shall be treated as an invalid entry and returned to the sender.

The Trial Secretary cannot make changes (except for move-ups as noted, or errors by the Trial Secretary) after the closing date of the trial. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog.

INSTRUCTIONS

Handlers may opt to enter in a higher height division for all Regular titling classes and the FAST titling classes, but not in a division lower than their proper height division.

Dogs entered in the Preferred classes must compete at the required jump height and may not compete in a jump height division higher or lower than their proper height division.

All dogs that have not been officially measured for an Agility Jump Height Card may still compete; however, they must be measured by a Judge of record, an Agility Field Representative, or a Volunteer Measuring Official, prior to running. The Judge's measurement will be valid for this trial or back-to-back trials only. If a measurement is necessary, it is the exhibitor's responsibility to have their dog(s) measured prior to running.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. 1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (Ionghaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), ManchesterTerriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard).
  2. 2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners' records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.
  3. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e, age division, color division, weight division.
  4. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. State on entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to the AKC. (For complete rules, refer to Chapter 11, Section 3.)

From East (Billings) I-90: Bear right onto off-ramp at exit 309. At end of ramp, go right & get into the left lane. Take your first left (Haggerty Lane), go about .4 miles — the Softball
Complex is on your right.

From West (Butte) I-90: Take exit 309. At end of ramp continue right. Get into the left lane. Take your first left (Haggerty Lane), go about .4 miles — the Softball Complex is on your right.
